HOW HEARING AIDS ARE MADE: CAMISHA

Widex uses its exclusive Computer Aided Design and Manufacturing –CAD/CAM- system, CAMISHA, to make your hearing aids. This system involves scanning your ear impressions, designing your hearing aids and making your shells using a sophisticated computer operated system. For more information on this process please see the CAMISHA section of this web site.

The material used to make the CAMISHA shell is a light cured acrylic. It meets the European Union –EU- standard for high biocompatibility. There are rare occasions that someone may be allergic to this acrylic. We have only had this happen in approximately 1 out of 20,000 hearing aid users. If you know you are allergic to acrylic materials, please discuss this with your physician and hearing aid dispenser.

The CAMISHA shells are available in 3 colors - Beige, Medium Brown and Clear.
